2008 : A Fresh New Start

Happy New Year 2008 to all the fans of River through out the world!
This holiday, I decided to spend the New Year at Times Square in New York with my family and what better way to start the year than by showing the the greatest city in the world the true colors of a champion.
This year, River has a lot to prove to its fans. With a new coach and new players on the horizon, something positive is starting to happen. Diego Simeone has requested four players to grace the Millonarios, and they are Diego Placente, Sebastian Abreu, Fernando Quiroga, and Andres D'Alessandro. The only one that seems to be arriving is the Uruguayan Abreu, who currently plays in Mexico. Additionally, River was looking to acquire Rodrigo Archubi, currently in Olympiakos from Greece, but there seems to a problem in the negotiation since Belluschi is in the middle of the transaction.
With the Clausura championship approaching, as well as the 2008 Copa Santander Libertadores, River will be challenged by both the fans and the board to win everything, at all cost.
I look forward to bringing you up to date information on River and the games this new year.
Have a great new year and I'll talk to you soon with River's preseason match with Independiente!
