How many this time? 4!
Por Carlos Soria - 03/10/2007 - 18:09

All I can say is that what we saw this afternoon at "La Paternal" was horrendous. With the talent that River has on the field and in the bench, there should be no excuse for losing so badly to a team who looked surprised as much as we were.

First half :
The game started with a stunning goal from Hauche at the third minute. The Argentinos and River fans were still coming in the stadium when this goal occured, so you can imagine how it would of felt to step in the stadium and see your team losing 1-0. The defensive duo of Lussenhoff and Gerlo looked like if they were playing another sport. Sloppy and disastrous!
Seven minutes later, Delorte scored to bring Argentinos Juniors up 2-0. With a horrible defense and a midfield that seemed lost, River looked desperate to score at least before the halftime. Lots of lobbies towards the center of the Argentinos' side proved to be useless. There were two chances to score before halftime, one by Ortega and the other by Abelaires, but unfortunatley nothing happened.
HALFTIME :
The fans are requesting a change and Passarella decided to bring in the young Buonanotte. The looks on everyone's faces is sad and fear of an embarassing loss.
Second Half :
River started the second half really strong, as Buonanotte put the team on his shoulders and pushed the attack on Argentinos. His quick style and clever wit helped revive a dormant River. All of a sudden, GOAL! by Marco Ruben.
The illusion that maybe a tie would take place took the River fans by surprise! River started playing good for the first time
in the game and the second goal seemed to be arriving soon. Argentinos got sloppy and their fans started to cheer them on to change their attitude.
As the game approached the end, a 2-1 loss looked accurate comparing on how River was playing. At the 42nd minute, the humiliation started. An Argentinos goal by Niell closed the match. To make the wound even deeper, the fourth goal by Battion sealed our fate.

What happened to River? This team looks like it doesn't play for nothing. What will be Pasarella's fate? How much are we going to lose by on Sunday? Any hope for the Copa Sudamericana? Is it Carrizo's fault that he has 11 goals scored on him in the last three games? All I can say is that a change is needed NOW, not tomorrow or next week.
