San Lorenzo Shocks River

Many have been wondering where I was after River’s loss to San Lorenzo? Despite all the rumors that I erased myself from the planet or was hiding underneath a rock, I was in fact sick and could not post anything. Whether you choose to believe me is one thing, but after suffering an agonizing, incredible loss on Thursday, I was in complete shock. To summarize the game (something that I hardly do since I’m a very detailed person), River got eliminated from the Copa Santander Libertadores at the hands of San Lorenzo. With two goals and two men up during the high point of the match, River seemed to control the ball and was determined to classify. This dream ended a few minutes later when San Lorenzo’s Bergessio scored two goals in four minutes to put the final dagger in every fan’s heart.

I’m the type of person that can get over many things, especially when something is important or crucial in my life. Ladies and gentlemen, after Thursday’s loss, I have lost sleep. Literally. I still cannot believe, after a few days, that River is officially gone from the Libertadores tournament. Many of you have asked repeatedly what had failed? I’m here to tell you that starting from the President down to the last player, everyone is at fault. Not just one group or another, but everyone.

•    President Aguilar has been ruining River’s chance of winning anything for a long, long time. We cannot hold a team together! Every chance he gets to sell a rising star, he quickly takes advantage of it. Additionally, little things like holding numerous concerts on a few days apart have ruined the precious field of the Monumental Stadium. That main culprit is this character.
•    Coach Simeone has not been able to show his skill and determination to win in every important game he has coached. River has lost four very important games in the past weeks and Simeone has nothing to say. Let alone his lack to substitute players when needed, he has caused many fans to go crazy.
•    The eleven zombies playing on the field. I’m sorry to feel so bitter against the players but where were they? These players do not feel the colors of the shirt and their actions have made the laughing stock team in the past five years.

Tomorrow, River faces Gimnasia de La Plata and this game is a “win or win” situation. Trust me, every River fan is disgusted with the team and something has to be won or else “all hell” is going to break rules.
